Under the Multi-annual Financial Framework of the European Union in the period 2021 – 2027, actions that pertain to improving health and well-being are supported by multiple streams of funding that cover different dimensions of action and operate in synergy with one another. Chief among them is Horizon Europe, the EU’s 9th research and innovation framework programme, as well as EU4Health, the Union’s 4th programme for implementation-focused action specifically in the field of health. This fact sheet, developed by the GÖG team leading Work Package 5 in scope of the NFP4Health project to strengthen capacities of EU4Health National Focal Points (NFPs), jointly with colleagues from the respective network project for Horizon Health National Contact Points (NCPs), HNN 3.0, provides stakeholders and potential applicants with a side-by-side comparison of some of the key features and possibilities of health funding under each programme.
